AMDEX Assists Walter Reed Army Medical Center to Support U.S. Soldiers

Silver Spring, Maryland, May 15, 2010

AMDEX Corporation, a CMMI Level 3 rated, IT and Professional services firm, completed its latest volunteer project with the U.S. Army Volunteer Corps (AVC) where nearly half of the AMDEX Headquarters staff, along with their family and friends, spent a Saturday at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for the U.S. soldiers at the Family Fun Fest. The AVC is a government agent for enhancing the well-being of U.S. Soldiers and their families through volunteer work.

AMDEX staff and other volunteers had the opportunity to setup equipment, staff food stations, and greet and escort guests at the event.

Darla L. Haines, Army Volunteer Corps Program Manager, sent the following message to the AMDEX team, "The ACS Team really appreciates the generosity and professionalism you had shown throughout the day to our soldiers, family members, and staff."

Participating in the Walter Reed event came as the latest project for the AMDEX Community Outreach Program. As a fundamental component of the company mission and philosophy, the AMDEX Community Outreach Program aims to substantially improve the communities where AMDEX employees both work and live. AMDEX staff seeks out opportunities where the company can make unique and positive contributions through community involvement in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. This includes participating or organizing a monthly event such as providing contributions to homeless shelters, staffing food drives and many more. Recently, AMDEX has partnered with American Heart Association, Holy Cross Hospital, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, University Hospital in Boston, Habitat for Humanity, and Bethesda Cares, Inc.

"The AMDEX team is always actively searching for opportunities to give back to the community," said Devinder K. Singh, President and CEO, AMDEX Corporation. "I can imagine no better way to spend this Saturday than with friends and family while helping our soldiers." Always eager to serve their community, the AMDEX team looks forward to the next Community Outreach Program event.

AMDEX to Enhance Innovative Telemedicine Technologies at the NIH

Silver Spring, Maryland, May 7, 2010

AMDEX Corporation, a CMMI Level 3 rated, IT and Professional Services firm has been awarded a five-year contract to enhance and support innovative telemedicine technologies for the Computational Bioscience and Engineering Laboratory (CBEL). CBEL is a biomedical research and development organization at the Center for Information Technology (CIT) within the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This is the third competitive award that AMDEX has won to support CBEL projects.

As part of this contract, AMDEX will continue to support the TELESYNERGY® Medical Consultation WorkStation, a multimedia, medical imaging workstation that allows radiologists and other medical professionals to collaborate on cancer research and treatment throughout the world. The WorkStation is utilized by 26 national and international institutions including the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. In addition, AMDEX will provide programming support for CBEL's Organ and Lesion Volume Server (OLVS) project, and Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine (DICOM) services. AMDEX has been providing programming support to the NIH/CBEL since 2002.

Telemedicine, a growing field within the healthcare industry, is the application of clinical medicine via audiovisual tools used to assist or perform medical consultations, diagnoses, collaborations or procedures. As an integral part in the future of healthcare, Telemedicine is being researched and utilized by many federal agencies as a means of providing more effect and cost-efficient healthcare. In 2003, agencies within the Federal government were estimated to have provided 350,000 patient services through the usage of Telemedicine.
